Assisted Living – A Necessity for the Seniors
A not so relatively new concept, today assisted living has become a long term caring option for seniors in your family. It is no more an issue of pride or ego for considering this kind of help. Today, there is a full fledged association and professionals who help seniors with housing solutions, health and care while they can enjoy living their own life with this little help. For many seniors, assisted living provides just the level of care they need to live and flourish in their new phase of life independently.
Assisted living is nothing but redefining senior care. They offer personal care support services such as medication, bathing, grooming or dressing, transportation help and daily meal help.
Cost of assisted living depends on the following factors:
- Type of your residence
- Apartment size like if it is studio or one or two-bedroom apartment
- Number of or type of the services that would be needed
- Geographical location of the community
Many of them charge a basic rate that covers all services, or an additional fee is put if any special services required. Most assisted living communities either charge on a month-to-month basis or there are long-term services options also available.
More than just assisted care –
Older people are generally left alone or are on their own at that age because the young ones move out, leaving them to take care of themselves. Of course family and friends are just a phone call away but that is practically not possible on a daily basis. With an assisted living care option they can have someone to socially interact with which is very important at that phase of their lives. They will have not only someone to take care of but also have options to indulge in some recreational and social activities.
