Keep away from Fungal Infections
You will have to be extra careful to stay away from fungal infections, like athlete’s foot, if you have caught cellulitis to avoid further complications. If you catch athlete’s foot and it is not getting cured or is recurring, take your doctor’s advice about oral antifungal medications.
Extra Care to be Taken by Diabetics
If you have diabetes, you will have to be extra careful about your feet. Cellulitis hampers blood circulation and hence feet can easily catch infections.
Avoid Sources of Infection
Keep away from potential sources of infections, such as touching family members who are ill and avoid also using their belongings. You should also avoid raw meat, fish, or poultry, and even soil, if your skin is cracked.
A study has found out that a possible cause of cellulitis in the leg is the inflammation due to rubbing toes together. The study also showed that, by treating the inflammation, cellulitis can also be prevented.
When your course of medication is completed, don’t forget to follow up with the doctor to ensure if the infection is completely cured.
If you take these precautions you will surely get rid of cellulitis infection.
