Vacation back pains can ruin your enjoyment and make you miserable for the rest of your trip. You want to make sure you get the most out of your vacation and enjoy time with your family. With these small tips, you can minimize your back pain and still have fun.

Whether you travel by car, plane or train, it is a good idea to pack as lightly as possible. This may minimize any strain on your back as you lift your luggage around. If you are traveling with a heavier item, ask someone else to carry it for you. Try to sit in seats that are comfortable and give you enough room so that you are not cramped. On road trips, make stops frequently so that you can get out of the car and stretch. Make sure you are also sitting up straight, and avoid reaching for things in the back seat. Bringing a small pillow to place at the lower portion of your back and some ice packs can be a big help if you start to feel some pain in your back.

Once you have arrived at your vacation spot, make sure you check into a hotel that has supportive mattresses on the beds. This will help you sleep better and avoid vacation back pains. Instead of being constantly on the go, take days in between to relax your back. If you have a few activities lined up where you can minimize your back pain, you can still enjoy your vacation. Some of these activities could include going for a walk, swimming, or lying out on the beach.

Vacation back pains can be a real downer on your family trip. Avoid or reduce your back pain by making sure you get the support you need traveling and at your destination. Be careful to avoid activities that will put strain on your back and enjoy your vacation.
