Keeping children safe and healthy is a constant worry for every parent. All parents take all measures known to them to keep their child healthy. But the constant changes in the weather and viruses in the air and contact with other sick children are bound to bring your kid down with some sickness too at times. There is nothing we can do in such situations but to go to the doctor and take medicines. However it is never too much to take certain precautionary measures for keeping children safe in cold weather or heat and ensure that your darling boy/ girl is in the pink of health most of the times. Just follow these simple tips mentioned below:
- Eat right – The first and foremost thing of course is to eat right. To eat healthy and right, to drink your soup and to eat your greens is what all doctors say. But what is important here and what all parents need to pay attention to is that they need to ensure that their child is getting a balanced diet. Your child should get the right amount of proteins, vitamins and other minerals to stay healthy. So consult a doctor or a dietician for the same.
- Stay clean – ‘Cleanliness is Godliness’. This is an old saying which stands true even today. Maintaining a clean and hygienic body is one of the key factors to remaining healthy. Children are bound to get dirty all the time, so parents need to ensure that they wash their hands enough and take a bath regularly.
- Changing weather – Every drop or raise in the climate affects our body as well, unless we have a strong immune system to fight it out. Each season requires a different caring process for us. For instance in summer; ensure that your child takes more baths, wears light clothes and drinks lots of water. In winters is important to remain dry and take extra care of our diet, like avoiding cold foods which can incur cough.
- Exercise – For children, it need not be going to the gym. Just playing outside or any sport can be enough physical exercise to keep them physically and mentally fit.
- Sleep well – An average of 8 hours of healthy and proper sleep can go a long way in keeping your child fresh and healthy throughout the day.
