Fight negative thoughts. Coping depression means a lot of mental work and you need to change the way you think. People suffering from depression tend to focus on the most negative aspects and leap to extremely bad conclusions. Next time negative thoughts overwhelm you, try to fight them with logic. For example, if you find yourself feeling like the loneliest person on the planet, realize there’s no real evidence to feel like that. At first, you’ll find it difficult to beat back your negative thoughts, but in time, you’ll be more and more able to control and change them.
